How do human beings gain the ability to think? For many years, scientists have looked at the role of genetic evolution. In many ways, though, that process also may depend on our interaction with other people. In other words, at least some of how we think may be shaped by cultural evolution. On this episode, we talk with Cecilia Heyes, senior research fellow at All Souls College of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. She is author of Cognitive Gadgets: The Cultural Evolution of Thinking.
